HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of sessions you will need varies considerably depending on:
YOUR AGE: You generally heal less quickly as you get older. though this is not always the case.
THE NATURE OF YOUR PROBLEM. Simple back ache will heal more quickly than sciatica.
HOW LONG YOU HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM. Yesterday's injury will resolve faster than one of 20 years standing.
GENERAL LEVEL OF FITNESS,STRESS LEVELS,NUTRITION AND LIFESTYLE. Are all factors to consider in optimising the progression of your treatment.
Most people need between 3 and 6 sessions-initially at weekly intervals, then gradually more widely spread out. There will be re-evaluation of your progress at each treatment session. Once the problem has resolved, regular check-ups are advised to ensure that your spine and other joints are functioning well.
DOES IT HURT?
To the patient and observers, McTimoney Chiropractic appears to be light and very unobtrusive. Some have even remarked that they felt hardly anything. The key to the sucess of the adjustments, however, is the speed, dexterity and accuracy with which they are performed.
There is rarely any cavitation or "gapping" of the joints. This is the audible 'pop' film makers love to include when they present chiropractors in action.

WHY McTIMONEY CHIROPRACTIC?
The skeletal system of the body is assessed as a whole at each session. The pelvic bones are accurately realigned before the spine is adjusted one individual vertebrae at a time.
Attention is given to the knees and the feet since making changes to the pelvis will inevitably change the transmission and distribution of load to the lower limbs. The bones of the neck are adjusted separately.

HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER TREATMENT?

Relief from pain as your body has become better aligned can make you feel straighter, taller and altogether more balanced.
FEELING WORSE BEFORE FEELING BETTER
While your body is adjusting to its new alignment, the discomfort may move from one side to another. You may experience soreness and stiffness as muscle tension changes. These effects will disappear as your body accommodates to its new position, generally after a couple of days.

All animals with a skeleton could in effect be treated with manipulation.

I offer Cranio-sacral Therapy. 1st session 1-hour at a cost of £65.00p
Follow-up treatments at 1/2 hour for £40.00p
I also do foot balancing and the fitting of tailor-made orthotics. This service is only available to chiropractic patients. The special orthotics are fitted to help remove gait problems that trigger other repetitive structural weaknesses that lead to pain and immobility. The orthotics take a 1/2-hour to fit and cost £100.00p/pair
