In 1980 my only exercise was a cycle ride to and from work. This was curtailed when the bike which was a wreck anyway was sadly stolen.
A good friend suggested I kept him company on his longish runs to get some exercise and keep fit. I’d never done it before so I bought a very good pair of Sauconys and set off on my journey. If you can remember that far back 1980 was around the time that marathon running started to be popular. Unbeknown to me my friend had entered us for a half marathon - on Boxing Day, would you believe! It was getting serious.
No sooner had I started to get excited about exercise when I had to stop because of shin splints. No matter how long I rested as soon as I got back out on the streets those damned pains would return. The GP’s response after rest and painkillers was - change to cycling!
At the advice of a friend I finally went to see a McTimoney Chiropractor here in Nottingham and after around four treatments I felt I could start light training again. I carried on with treatment and pretty soon I was back doing full sessions again. My mood lifted, my posture felt good, my running felt more flowing and I received a new energy potential I couldn’t believe.

I was a Chiropractic evangelical convert! I told everyone to get themselves checked over by a McTimoney Chiropractor.
I felt so strongly about it that I went away and trained to be a Chiropractor myself.

They are the only two beings I know whose mechanical alignment has been nigh on perfect since they could walk. They’ve had no problems and have been to A&E more than the GP. (breaks and sprains I hasten to add)
